Computer Science Academic Advising
Advising Announcements
- The CS department is planning to create a major and a minor in artificial intelligence. Please complete our AI Major Survey to share your thoughts!
- CS/CSE majors will now be able to schedule two advising appointments during the quarter. Please reserve these for situations where you need a full 30-minute appointment with an advisor. If you have a quick question, please utilize our drop-in hours instead.
- The CS department office does not take walk-ins. If you are a CS/CSE major and need to speak to an advisor, please schedule an appointment or attend our virtual drop-in hours. Students interested in changing to CS/CSE must attend a change of major advising session.
- All CS Majors: GE advising is handled by the Engineering Undergraduate Office (EUO) now, regardless of your official college. If you have questions about non-major requirements, please visit EUO instead of L&S.
- Need course credit for your internship? Enroll in ECS 192! Review the CS Internship webpage for the process on how to enroll.
- Need help in your ECS courses? Check out CS Tutoring (peer-run service) at UC Davis!
- Need a place to study on campus? Take a look at some of the study spaces available on the Student Affairs website.

Who We Are
CS Undergraduate Advisors partner with CS and CSE students to provide assistance on their academic journey. Advising is a collaborative process that requires each student to be an active participant. Our goal is to teach our students how to understand their academic requirements, navigate course scheduling, and connect with university resources available to help them along the way. We strive to understand the diverse needs of our student population and provide equitable academic advising services to all.
