Bio

Professor Homayoun's research is in the broad area of computer engineering, with an emphasis on hardware security and trust, computer system security, heterogeneous computing and energy-efficient computing. He is directing Accelerated, Secure, and Energy-Efficient Computing Laboratory (ASEEC) in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. The lab investigates experimental research in the areas of hardware security and trust, malware detection in IoT network, side-channel vulnerabilities detection and analysis, secure microarchitecture, hardware reverse engineering, trojan detection, big data computing, hardware accelerator for machine learning analytics, heterogeneous architecture design, developing energy-efficient algorithms for emerging big data applications, accelerating big data computing, emerging memory technologies for big data, and mapping and scheduling applications into heterogeneous architectures. He is also the site director for National Science Foundation IUCRC Center for Hardware and Embedded Systems Security and Trust (CHEST) (http://nsfchest.org/).
