Rogaway is interested both in cryptography and in the social and ethical character of modern technology. Prof. Rogaway’s cryptographic work aims to solve real-world security and privacy problems with the artful use of definitions, protocols and proofs. His sociopolitical work focuses on how technological work has come imperil human values and the natural world. Protocols, definitions, and viewpoints from Prof. Rogaway have shaped much of what now goes on in applied cryptography.
